About the position

Saint Luke's Community Hospital in Kansas City, KS is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical/Surgical Intermediate Unit. This role is designed for experienced RNs who value autonomy and patient-centered care in a supportive environment. The position emphasizes the importance of managing care within established nursing standards while collaborating with physicians and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage care within established nursing standards and practices as defined by the state.
• Triage patients and prioritize needs with a caring and responsive attitude.
• Initiate care to stabilize patients and assist in managing life support needs.
• Collect detailed patient history and symptoms, including vital signs, and provide timely care.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations.
• Report adverse treatments or medications according to current policies and procedures.
• Prepare patient meals.
• Participate in QAPI activities, including accreditation preparation and maintenance of standards.

Requirements

• 2 years of applicable experience in nursing.
• Valid RN License in Kansas.
• BLS Certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Nice-to-haves
