About the position
The RN Break Nurse in Labor & Delivery at St Joseph Medical Center is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients during their labor and delivery process. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, assisting with childbirth, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for mothers and newborns. The RN Break Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver compassionate care and support to families during this critical time.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients during labor and delivery.
- Provide support and education to patients and their families.
- Assist in childbirth and ensure the safety of both mother and baby.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
Requirements
- Current RN license in Washington State.
- Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
- Knowledge of maternal and newborn care best practices.
