About the position

The Media Buyer/Planner position at Strike Marketing involves managing and executing media buying strategies across traditional and digital platforms. The role requires a strong understanding of market research, audience analysis, and effective negotiation with media sales to optimize advertising campaigns for clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in media buying, particularly in Spot TV, Radio, and Cable, and will be responsible for developing advertising strategies that align with client goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and analyze demographics, media usage, psychographics, and buying patterns to define the target audience and campaign requirements.
  • Develop advertising strategies and campaigns with the media team to effectively reach the desired audience.
  • Negotiate with advertising sales to ensure the most cost-effective approach for the client.
  • Manage budgets and monitor campaign budget and delivery.
  • Monitor audience and media trends, practices, and new technologies.
  • Communicate and maintain professional relationships with media salespeople.
  • Professionally represent and advocate for Strike Marketing and its clients.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience buying Spot TV, Radio, and Cable is a must.
  • Strong computer skills and understanding of Strata (Freewheel), Google suite, and Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of teamwork and shared responsibility.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate tasks and projects for efficiency.
  • Operate with the highest degree of integrity.
  • Desire to learn and grow as a media professional.
  • Must possess initiative, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task to meet simultaneous deadlines.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a media buyer.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with OOH and CTV is preferred.
  • Experience with Strata (Freewheel) for at least 3 years is preferred.
