About the position

This is a temporary 3-month assignment from October 1st, 2024, to December 30th, 2024, at Oxford Road, the world's premier independent audio ad agency. As a Media Buyer (MB), your primary objective will be to generate consistent and profitable revenue growth for our clients and the agency. You will be responsible for developing media schedules, primarily in audio, that exceed clients' performance goals. This role requires smooth, efficient, and reliable execution of campaigns, which includes refinement and optimization, pacing and clearance, and reconciliation of media buys. Building and maintaining strong relationships with media partners to meet clients' objectives and adapt to their changing needs is also a key aspect of this position. In this role, you will utilize performance and research data to plan, negotiate, and execute media schedules across various audio channels. You will cultivate and maintain excellent relationships with media partners to enhance client performance and identify new media opportunities that can help clients scale. Additionally, you will assess the performance of client schedules, refining them to improve results and exceed client goals. You will oversee junior team members to ensure efficient team operations in meeting all objectives and will handle revision requests due to flight changes and RFPs with defined programs. Presenting media plans to account management and clients as needed, and assisting the media coordinator and reconciliation specialist in resolving discrepancies with vendors will also be part of your responsibilities. Training junior members of the media team will be required as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop media schedules primarily in audio that exceed clients' performance goals.
  • Execute campaigns efficiently, including refinement, optimization, pacing, and reconciliation.

  • Evaluate, negotiate, and promote new media opportunities for client scaling.
  • Assess and refine client schedules' performance to improve results.
  • Oversee junior team members to ensure efficient team operations.
  • Handle revision requests due to flight changes and RFPs with defined programs.
  • Present media plans to account management and clients as needed.
  • Assist in resolving spot discrepancies and make goods with vendors.
  • Train junior members of the media team as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of media buying experience required; direct response buying is a plus.
  • Planning experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Strata preferred; experience in at least one media buying system required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and accuracy.
  • Proven negotiation and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong track record of meeting timelines and deadlines on projects.
  • Strong emphasis on accuracy, detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle fast-paced, demanding environments.
