About the position

The Media Analyst position at Mattel is a critical role focused on analyzing YouTube data to support the company's global paid media efforts. This position is based in El Segundo, CA, and is designed for an individual who is passionate about media analytics and has a strong understanding of the YouTube platform. The Media Analyst will work closely with the paid YouTube team to evaluate campaign performance, interpret data, and prepare detailed reports that provide actionable insights. This role requires a collaborative spirit, as the analyst will partner with media buyers and internal teams to optimize media strategies and ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs) are met while maintaining cost-per-view (CPV) efficiency. In this role, the Media Analyst will be responsible for researching YouTube trends and providing updates to the paid YouTube team and the broader marketing organization at Mattel. The analyst will also conduct ad hoc analyses to support various initiatives and will manage a database of media metrics, ensuring that data is accurate and reliable. The ideal candidate will have a background in marketing, business, or communications, and will possess strong analytical skills to drive data-driven strategies that enhance overall YouTube performance for the brand portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze campaign performance and prepare detailed reports with actionable insights.
  • Partner closely with media buyers to provide recommendations for optimizations against media KPIs.
  • Ensure KPIs are met while maintaining CPV efficiency.
  • Research YouTube trends and provide updates to the paid YouTube team and marketing organization.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal IMC teams to implement data-driven strategies and improve YouTube performance.
  • Manage a database of media metrics and perform regular updates to ensure data accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in YouTube media analytics and execution required.
  • Experience in the Toy/Kid, Entertainment, or Retail sectors is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the YouTube platform, Google Ads, Google's Display & Video 360 Software, and YouTube analytics platforms.
  • Experience with YouTube partners such as Zefr and Channel Factory is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including calculations and pivot tables; experience with Google Data Studio is a plus.
