About the position
The Media Operation Center Technician is responsible for ensuring the accurate and successful operation of transmission output across various broadcast platforms and streams. This role involves managing end-to-end media management workflows, maintaining operational standards, and troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure seamless delivery of content to customers.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and successful operation of transmission output.
- Manage end-to-end media management workflows used by edit suites and control rooms.
- Perform fault finding and escalate issues to the appropriate team.
- Maintain the health and quality of all outbound transmission and inbound returns.
- Support additional live feeds and social media simulcast programming.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues with system dashboards and broadcast network devices.
- Conduct routine quality control checks on software, processes, and equipment.
- Perform service recovery during server-based play out and live shows.
- Monitor sales and inventory data and respond with appropriate on-air graphic information.
- Correct configuration and operation of applications in the Media Operations Center.
Requirements
- College degree, technical school, military training, or equivalent experience required.
- One or more years of recent engineering, control room, media operations, or network operations experience in a television broadcast environment.
- Overall knowledge of television production processes and technical production requirements.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with live streaming to multiple platforms.
- Familiarity with channel automation and routing systems.
