About the position

The Media Operation Center Technician is responsible for ensuring the accurate and successful operation of transmission output across all broadcast platforms and streams. This role involves managing end-to-end media management workflows, maintaining operational standards, and performing fault finding to prevent quality issues from reaching customers. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting live feeds, monitoring systems, and conducting quality checks on video and audio signals.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the health and quality of all outbound transmission/streaming and inbound returns.
  • Support additional live feeds and social media simulcast programming.
  • Responsible for playout of all live and non-live channels.
  • Implement live streaming to multiple platforms.
  • Monitor and work with system dashboards to ensure functionality and troubleshoot issues.
  • Correct configuration and operation of all applications in the Media Operations Center, including channel automation and routing.
  • Monitor sales and inventory data and respond with appropriate on-air graphic information.
  • Monitor network management dashboard and troubleshoot all broadcast network devices.
  • Conduct routine QC checks on software, processes, equipment, and all incoming and outgoing video and audio signals.
  • Perform service recovery according to set procedures during server-based playout and live shows.
  • First line investigation and resolution of technical and operational issues within the transmission and MAM environment.

Requirements

  • College degree, technical school, military training, or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
  • One or more years of recent engineering, control room, media operations, or network operations experience in a television broadcast environment.
  • Overall knowledge of television production processes, broadcast operations, and technical production requirements.
