About the position

The Medic position at Cascade Health involves responding to field calls to provide initial on-site first aid to injured employees and patrons at local businesses. The role requires collecting urine and blood specimens for drug testing and may involve working up to 24-hour shifts, including weekends. Medics will operate from their homes and are compensated with a stipend for on-call hours, along with an hourly wage for time spent on calls. This position offers opportunities for continuing education and professional growth within the Mobile Health department.

Responsibilities

• Respond to field calls and provide initial on-site first aid to injured employees and patrons.
• Collect urine and blood specimens for drug testing.
• Document patient care performed and complete required forms.
• Perform wheelchair transfer duties utilizing a wheelchair accessible van.
• Operate Mobile Health vehicles and drive in varying weather conditions, both day and night.
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional demeanor.
• Take vital signs, perform wound prep and care, and assist with patient registration in the computer system.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings every other month.

Requirements

• Current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician certification in good standing.
• Current driver's license and BLS CPR certification.
• Minimum of six months of field experience in direct patient care with a recognized EMS agency.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Willingness to obtain additional training and/or certification as requested.
• Experience in customer service roles.
