About the position

The Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 1 plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the Financial Management Service (FMS) contract that supports the Developmental Disabilities self-direction service delivery system. This position involves managing day-to-day operations, providing technical assistance, and ensuring compliance with Medicaid regulations. The administrator acts as a liaison between various stakeholders, coordinates training sessions, and participates in policy development to enhance service delivery for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a project/team leader to manage day-to-day operations of the Financial Management Service (FMS) contract.
  • Review participant-directed goods and services (PDGS) purchases and monitor growth and utilization of self-directed services.
  • Coordinate monthly meetings to address concerns from county boards, stakeholders, and FMS.
  • Provide interpretation and implementation of Medicaid regulations and develop training sessions for stakeholders.
  • Monitor data related to costs and services to ensure accurate systems information.
  • Respond to daily inquiries around self-direction and provide technical assistance.
  • Produce informational and management reports regarding self-direction for review and dissemination.
  • Coordinate responses to correspondence and inquiries, ensuring professional presentation and accuracy.
  • Develop materials for publication and presentation for training and technical assistance.
  • Monitor the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for maintaining FMS services in Ohio.

Requirements

  • Completion of graduate core program in business, management, public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science, or public finance.
  • 12 months of experience in health services program delivery or health services project management.
  • Experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Specialist may substitute for required experience, but not for mandated licensure if required.
  • Current and valid license as a registered nurse may be required if overseeing clinical appropriateness of services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in health care data analysis and health services contract management.
  • Knowledge of health services budget development and financial expertise.
