About the position

The Medicaid Healthcare Data and Statistical Analyst position at the Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA) involves leading efforts in Medicaid payment and care delivery reform. The role focuses on advancing value-based provider payment models to improve health outcomes for Vermonters. The analyst will engage in research, statistical analysis, and program evaluation to support the design and implementation of these models, working collaboratively with various departments within the Agency of Human Services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide research, statistical, and program evaluation work to support value-based payment models for Medicaid services.
  • Measure and monitor Medicaid enrollment, utilization, expenditures, and program performance.
  • Assess eligibility and health data needs, identifying data gaps and evaluating the quality of existing data.
  • Integrate existing data to ensure its usefulness for decision-making regarding health status and policy effectiveness.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of policies and programs and monitor health outcomes and service costs.

Requirements

  • Experience in health services and policy research.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on health data analytics.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate health data needs and gaps.
  • Experience in program evaluation and statistical analysis.
