About the position

The Medicaid Program Specialist 2 will support Alaska Medicaid Services by overseeing program activities related to pharmaceutical and pharmacy services. This includes managing enrollment, claims processing, payment monitoring, and provider education. The role requires resolving claims issues, ensuring compliance with laws, analyzing policies, drafting regulations, and providing professional services for Medicaid programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Medicaid program activities related to pharmaceutical and pharmacy services.
  • Manage enrollment and claims processing for Medicaid services.
  • Monitor payment processes and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Resolve claims issues between the state, fiscal agent, and enrolled providers.
  • Analyze policies and procedures related to Medicaid services.
  • Draft regulations and oversee fiscal agent activities.
  • Provide professional services for Medicaid/Medical Assistance programs.

Requirements

  • Experience in supporting the administration of Medicaid or Medicare programs.
  • Knowledge of health insurance management information systems.
  • Experience in auditing or monitoring medical or public assistance programs.
  • Proficiency in processing medical claims using medical coding and billing knowledge.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
