About the position

The Medical A/R Specialist at AZ Maternity & Women's Clinic is responsible for managing the financial transactions related to accounts receivable within the medical sector. This role involves processing payments, maintaining financial records, and ensuring timely collections, with a strong emphasis on medical billing and coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable aging reports to identify outstanding invoices and follow up on collections.
• Verify and reconcile discrepancies in billing statements or payment records.
• Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, including inquiries about charges, payment plans, and outstanding balances.
• Collaborate with the medical billing team to ensure accurate coding (ICD-10, CPT).
• Submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, and appeals for denied claims.
• Maintain organized records of all transactions, including payments, adjustments, and correspondence related to accounts receivable.
• Assist in preparing reports related to accounts receivable for management review.

Requirements

• Proficiency in medical collection processes and understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of medical billing systems and coding practices (ICD-10, CPT).
• Experience working in a medical office environment with familiarity in handling medical records.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Problem-solving skills to address discrepancies or issues related to accounts receivable efficiently.
