About the position
As a Plasma Center Nurse at BioLife, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of plasma donors. This position involves screening and advising donors, managing donor reactions, and supporting plasma center operations in a modern and supportive environment. You will work closely with a dedicated team to collect high-quality plasma that contributes to life-saving therapies for patients with rare diseases. Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility through medical history interviews and physical examinations.
- Manage informed consent and educate donors on AIDS and self-exclusion.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies.
- Refer to the Center Physician for unacceptable findings or medical issues.
- Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized educational nursing program.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibility as LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
