About the position

The Medical Assistant position at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health involves supporting providers and the healthcare team in a primary care clinic setting. Responsibilities

  • Assist providers and healthcare team members in the clinic.
  • Perform patient care procedures such as injections, EKGs, ear lavage, and blood draws.
  • Measure patient vital signs including weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temperature.
  • Manage rooming and patient flow, including pre-visit preparation and post-visit duties.
  • Inform providers of schedule changes that impact patient flow.
  • Assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks.
  • Report test results as directed by the provider.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with the ability to read and comprehend at a 12th Grade Level or above.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
  • Washington State Department of Health medical assistant certification (CM) or interim credential (IC) required.
  • Knowledge of third-party payer requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in using a PC.
