As a Medical Assistant in the Ambulatory Orthopedic Clinic at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine clerical and clinical tasks within the clinic.
  • Assist physicians and other licensed providers in providing patient care.

  • Support clinical team in achieving annual wellness care and transitional care documentation.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized medical assistant program.
  • One (1) year of medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Some positions may require an Office Lab Assistant License within sixty (60) days of hire.
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent Primary/Orthopedic Clinic experience as a medical assistant (preferred).
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience performing preliminary physical tests, charting, and taking vitals (preferred).
  • Knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic medical terminology.
  • Skill in procuring specimens and performing noninvasive procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Primary/Orthopedic Clinic setting.
  • Proficiency in using medical software applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
