About the position

The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship at Henry Ford Health is a 12-month program designed to provide individuals with paid on-the-job training and academic support as they work towards becoming a Registered Medical Assistant. Participants will gain hands-on experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings, preparing them for a rewarding career in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms.
  • Measuring and recording height, weight, and other vitals.
  • Demonstrating competency with computerized charting systems such as EPIC.
  • Assisting clinical staff with patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Enrollment in an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant Program.
  • Agreement to obtain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate through the Henry Ford Medical Group's education department.
  • Outstanding attendance and commitment to both work and academic responsibilities.
