About the position
The Medical Assistant Apprenticeship at Henry Ford Health is a 12-month program designed to provide individuals with paid on-the-job training and academic support as they work towards becoming a Registered Medical Assistant. Participants will gain hands-on experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings, preparing them for a rewarding career in healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms.
- Measuring and recording height, weight, and other vitals.
- Demonstrating competency with computerized charting systems such as EPIC.
- Assisting clinical staff with patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Enrollment in an accredited ABHES or CAAHEP Medical Assistant Program.
- Agreement to obtain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate through the Henry Ford Medical Group's education department.
- Outstanding attendance and commitment to both work and academic responsibilities.
