About the position
The Bilingual Medical Assistant at Windrose Health Network plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, family-oriented primary and preventive health care services. This position requires effective communication in Spanish or Punjabi/Hindi and involves supporting physicians and Nurse Practitioners in a fast-paced family practice environment. The role emphasizes excellent customer service, patient advocacy, and teamwork, contributing to a supportive and dynamic work culture.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and offer nursing help as needed for the provider.
- Assist physician and Nurse Practitioner in exam rooms.
- Room patients, including weight, vital signs, and taking a medical history.
- Complete electronic charting.
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by the physician or Nurse Practitioner.
- Perform in-house labs (hemoglobin, strep, flu, lead, immunization, etc.).
- Conduct hearing and vision screens.
- Ensure all related reports, labs, and information are filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
- Assist physician with any additional tasks as assigned.
- Ensure patient rooms and waiting rooms are clean and presentable.
- Report to patients results or messages from the providers via phone.
- Maintain all logs and required checks.
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish or Punjabi/Hindi
- 1-3 years preferred experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office
- Strong customer service skills
- Good communication skills, both verbally and written
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program/Certification required
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
- Experience with EMR systems (1 year preferred)
- Experience with vital signs (1 year preferred)
