About the position

The Medical Assistant position at Hopedale Cardiovascular Associates is a full-time role focused on providing clinical support in a community-based setting. The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and advanced practitioners to ensure smooth patient flow and assist in the examination and treatment of patients. This role is integral to the operations of the practice, emphasizing compassionate care and the use of advanced technology in cardiovascular disease management.

Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to the exam rooms and takes vital signs.
  • Cleans and restocks exam rooms.
  • Performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant scope of practice, including EKGs and point of care testing.
  • Maintains the strictest confidentiality of patient records.
  • Sends in electronic prescriptions for patients as instructed by providers.
  • Communicates with patients regarding laboratory and imaging results and prescription instructions.
  • Coordinates pre-visit preparations, ensuring relevant labs and tests are scheduled and completed prior to office visits.
  • Provides assistance to providers with office procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in taking vital signs.
  • Valid BC/BE certification.
