About the position

The Medical Assistant position at The Hirsh Center for Arthritis and Sports Medicine involves providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. The role requires assisting healthcare providers with various tasks, including patient intakes, phlebotomy, and operational workflow, while ensuring excellent customer service and teamwork. The ideal candidate will be part of a dedicated team focused on creating positive patient experiences in a modern office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Take patients' vital signs and review previous office visit notes.
  • Reconcile patients' medications and document in the EHR.
  • Assist providers with procedures, including ultrasound-guided injections.
  • Return patient phone calls and obtain medical records.
  • Schedule patient appointments and maintain a positive demeanor throughout the day.
  • Partner with the clinical team to achieve company goals.
  • Stock exam rooms and supply closets, and perform opening and closing duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including experience with EHR systems.
  • Recent college graduates in medical sciences (biology, chemistry, pre-med) will be considered.

Nice-to-haves

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Experience with EMR systems (1 year preferred)
  • Experience with vital signs (1 year preferred)
