Responsibilities

  • Assist patients, staff, and physicians to maintain operational efficiency and customer service.
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills in assigned areas within the scope of practice.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, ensuring verification and documentation.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures and obtain consent for surgeries.
  • Document patient care accurately and per protocol.
  • Monitor patient flow and physician schedules to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Participate in clinical projects as directed by the physician or manager.
  • Complete Quality Assurance assignments and ensure department compliance with requirements.
  • Manage and complete AEHR tasks within prescribed timelines.

Requirements

  • Certification of completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - REQUIRED.
  • 1 Year MA experience in a related clinical area - PREFERRED.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants - PREFERRED.
  • Hospital Corpsman (HM) - US Navy - PREFERRED.
