About the position

The Medical Assistant in Endocrinology at Jefferson plays a crucial role in supporting physicians in the assessment, examination, and treatment of patients. Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians in assessing, examining, and treating patients.
  • Manage patient flow and perform various diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and taking vitals.
  • Act as a liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure proper identification.
  • Document vital signs, clinical care quality measures, and medical history information.
  • Remain proficient in the use and documentation requirements within information technology systems.
  • Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory and facilitate smooth operations of the office.
  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program with a minimum of 330 hours of instruction for NJ applicants.
  • Experience in a physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
