About the position

The Medical Assistant position at Emory Healthcare's ENT Clinic involves providing comprehensive patient care and support in an outpatient setting. The Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers, contributing to patient assessments, treatment, and education while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN.
• Take vital signs and administer medications as per approved policy.
• Perform simple diagnostic tests and collect specimens.
• Draw blood and sterilize equipment while maintaining examination rooms.
• Assist in emergency situations as directed by licensed providers.
• Handle administrative duties including patient check in/out and responding to requests.
• Maintain patients' charts and ensure proper documentation and confidentiality.
• Order, verify, and store unit supplies.
• Ensure compliance with Universal Precaution guidelines and safety standards.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant certification from NHA, NCCT, AAMA, or AMT.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Successful completion of all medical assistant orientation and training requirements.

Nice-to-haves
