About the position

The Medical Assistant at Froedtert Hospital plays a crucial role in the patient-centered healthcare team, responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming tasks, assisting with procedures, and providing discharge instructions. This position requires collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure a smooth patient experience and may involve cross-training to support optimal clinic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-visit planning and preparation for patient visits.
  • Perform standard rooming responsibilities for patients.
  • Assist healthcare providers with medical procedures.
  • Provide discharge instructions to patients after their visits.
  • Collaborate with providers to enhance patient comfort and care during visits.
  • Cross-train and float to different clinics as needed to maintain operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One to two years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate) or equivalent training.
  • Possession of at least one of the following credentials: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABROE), or CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent required within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification through the AAMA or an equivalent certification board is preferred.
