About the position

The Medical Assistant Float position at Golden Valley Health Centers involves performing nursing procedures and patient registration tasks across multiple clinic sites in Modesto, Empire, Riverbank, and Manteca. This full-time role requires regular travel to various locations and supports the delivery of excellent patient care services within the established scope of practice. The position offers a competitive hourly wage along with a daily bonus for each day worked.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing procedures and patient registration tasks.
• Travel regularly to all GVHC sites as required.
• Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Work within a team care environment to provide excellent patient care services.
• Coordinate duties with Back Office Supervisor and licensed providers.
• Conduct pre-visit planning in collaboration with patients.
• Maintain efficient patient care flow throughout the day.
• Collect and record patient data including vital signs and medical history.
• Administer medications and vaccines, and perform specimen collection.
• Provide uncomplicated wound care and assist in patient transfers.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist providers as needed.
• Educate patients upon authorization of the provider.
• Record performance of authorized patient treatment in medical records.
• Participate in staff education and training activities.
• Assist in facility management and maintain cleanliness in patient areas.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assisting certificate from an accredited program.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Driver's license and clear DMV record required.
• Basic knowledge of MA and back office procedures and medical terminology.
• Basic computer skills and data entry skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
