About the position
The Medical Assistant Float position is designed to assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. This role requires flexibility as the Medical Assistant Float will be based in a primary department but may be called to travel to various practice locations to provide coverage across multiple specialties, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology, and Cardiology/OB/GYN. The position may also involve administrative duties in Patient Access areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician.
- Travel to various practice locations to provide coverage as needed.
- Support clinical areas including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology, and Specialties such as Cardiology/OB/GYN.
- Perform administrative duties in Patient Access areas when required.
Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting program with current certification/registration from AAMA/AMT or NCCT.
- Graduated from an approved practical nursing program with current Kentucky LPN Licensure.
- Graduated from an accredited RN program with current Kentucky RN Licensure.
- Basic Life Support certification and other advanced training as appropriate.
