About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our medical office, ensuring that patients receive exceptional service and care. This position requires strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients as they arrive and provide excellent patient service throughout their visit.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with basic medical procedures, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure timely patient care and follow-up.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office environment, including exam rooms.
  • Process patient information, including insurance verification and billing inquiries.
  • Support the medical team with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology is essential for effective patient interaction.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is desirable.
  • Familiarity with dermatology practices is a plus.
  • Ability to perform X-Ray procedures or assist in related tasks is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required to interact with patients and staff effectively.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient service in a compassionate manner is essential.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of hospital medicine practices and protocols is preferred, particularly in a Level II Trauma Center setting.
