Responsibilities

• Provides front-office assistance including telephone coverage, greeting patients, and scheduling appointments.
• Interviews patients and measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, recording information on patients' charts.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients, draping patients with covering and positioning instruments and equipment.
• Hands instruments and materials to the provider as directed.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Performs x-rays (based on certification), electrocardiographs (EKG), and other routine diagnostic tests.
• Schedules patients for tests by calling medical facilities or departments.
• Administers injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests.
• Registers patients in all required information systems and maintains office and patient records.
• Schedules appointments, receives payments for bills, and completes insurance forms.
• Maintains all required clinic logs and is responsible for completing all prior authorizations.

Requirements

• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual preferred.
