About the position
The Medical Assistant position at Georgia Endoscopy Center is a full-time role focused on providing support in a busy GI Lab. The role involves assisting with patient care in both pre-operative and post-anesthesia settings, ensuring a high standard of care aligned with the center's mission to treat every patient and family with compassion and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Assist with vital signs and taking patient history in Pre-op alongside RN.
- Float to PACU to assist RN with care of post-anesthesia patients, including vital signs and IV management.
- Ensure discharge criteria are met and assist in discharging patients via wheelchair.
- Participate in performance assessments at 30, 60, 90, and 120 days with the Clinical Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid BLS Certification from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Experience in monitoring vital signs and reporting to RN in pre-op and PACU settings.
- Ability to instruct patients before and after procedures.
- Team player with professional interaction skills with staff and physicians.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of GI anatomy is preferred.
