About the position
The Medical Assistant at the Heart Institute plays a crucial role in supporting the examination and treatment of patients under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. This full-time position involves a variety of clinical and clerical tasks aimed at ensuring a smooth and efficient patient care experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
- Assist with treatments ordered by the physician as supervised by a physician or registered nurse.
- Perform select clinical duties such as interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
- Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
- High School diploma or GED equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
