As a Medical Assistant I/II/III, you will play a crucial role in supporting the clinical team in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care. Responsibilities

  • Perform responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
  • Effectively participate in planning and preparing for patient visits ensuring appropriate schedules, test results, and clinic specific requirements are available.
  • Room patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history and other information as required by clinic.
  • As required and competency validated, perform appropriate hearing and vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point of care testing, specimen collection, equipment cleaning/reprocessing and other requested procedures.
  • Prepare and stock rooms (daily/weekly) and clinic supplies in advance of clinic visit as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between patients.
  • Prepare for and assist with routine and specialty procedures.
  • Schedule patients for follow up appointments or referrals and perform routine clerical duties for team and staff to include photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
  • Perform telephone messaging and in person screening with appropriate follow up.
  • Respect and maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred.
  • Minimum of six months experience or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program.
