About the position

Responsibilities

  • Perform responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.
  • Effectively participate in planning and preparing for patient visits, ensuring appropriate schedules, test results, and clinic-specific requirements are available.
  • Room patients while determining and documenting chief complaints, vital signs, medication lists, allergies, and other required information.
  • Perform appropriate hearing and vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point of care testing, specimen collection, and other requested procedures as required and competency validated.
  • Prepare and stock rooms and clinic supplies in advance of clinic visits and clean rooms appropriately between patients.
  • Assist with routine and specialty procedures as needed.
  • Schedule patients for follow-up appointments or referrals and perform routine clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
  • Perform telephone messaging and in-person screening with appropriate follow-up.
  • Respect and maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
  • Six months experience or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program.

Nice-to-haves

  • Procedure scheduling experience.
  • EPIC experience preferred.
