The Medical Assistant I or II position at Watts Healthcare Corporation involves providing routine and basic nursing care to patients in a community health center environment. The role focuses on ensuring efficient patient care delivery, supporting healthcare providers, and participating in the management of electronic health records. The position requires a commitment to organizational success and the ability to adapt to changes in work responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine and basic nursing care to patients of all ages.
  • Ensure services meet clinic standards of excellence and patient satisfaction.
  • Support the provider in maintaining workflow efficiency.
  • Identify and eliminate wasteful activities in patient care processes.
  • Participate as an Electronic Health Record (eCW) super user.
  • Cross-train in other duties to provide support during absences or heavy workloads.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by health center administrator or nurse supervisor.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant Certificate of completion from a California accredited school.
  • CPR certification for Adult, Child, and Infant from a recognized organization.
  • Skills in performing venipuncture, EKGs, audiometry, and vision screening.
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of continuous employment in healthcare settings with a proven track record of excellent attendance and performance.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
  • Experience in community health centers or healthcare facilities.
