About the position

The Medical Assistant III/Clinic LPN at CoxHealth Ozark Super Clinic is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare to pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood. This role involves both administrative and clinical duties, including patient care, vital sign measurement, and assisting with medical procedures under the supervision of healthcare providers. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing physical, emotional, and social healthcare to pediatric patients.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records.
  • Measure and record vital signs and collect medical information from patients.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist in medical procedures as directed by providers.
  • Administer medications and maintain vaccine temperature logs.
  • Clean rooms and equipment, and stock medical supplies.

Requirements

  • Graduated from a formal, in-person Medical Assistant training program or an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma.
  • Certification from a recognized program (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or LPN).
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar field is preferred for LPN.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
