About the position

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) at MultiCare plays a crucial role in supporting the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team. This position involves direct patient care responsibilities, including vital signs monitoring, specimen collection, and assisting with patient examinations. The MA-C works under the supervision of licensed healthcare practitioners and is integral to ensuring smooth patient flow and communication within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
• Interviewing patients
• Obtaining vital signs
• Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
• Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
• Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
• Sending and receiving of patient medical records
• Facilitating patient referrals
• Preparing forms for patients

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants
• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
