About the position

The Medical Assistant Instructor at Bond Community Health Center is responsible for leading the technical instruction for the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program. This full-time position requires a qualified individual with a strong healthcare background and a passion for teaching, aimed at guiding apprentices towards successful careers as Certified Medical Assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive technical instruction for Medical Assistant apprentices.
  • Create lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with industry standards and apprenticeship program requirements.
  • Incorporate a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure a thorough understanding of the material.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Provide individualized instruction and support to apprentices, including tutoring, mentoring, and career guidance.
  • Monitor and assess apprentice progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing intervention strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator and other instructors to ensure a cohesive and integrated curriculum.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with apprentices, colleagues, and program stakeholders.
  • Participate in program meetings, professional development opportunities, and other relevant activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Assist in the development and revision of program policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accreditation and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in a related healthcare field.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with prior teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Assistant practices and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and implement engaging and effective instructional materials.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid. Additional teaching certifications are a plus.
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
