About the position

The Medical Assistant Instructor is a full-time role responsible for teaching students using the standardized Ross curriculum. The instructor will prepare lesson plans, grade assignments, and promote student retention while supporting externship activities. This position requires teaching five mornings and two evenings per week under the supervision of the Associate Director.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students using the standardized Ross curriculum.
  • Review lesson plans and prepare for class instruction.
  • Grade and electronically record assignments.
  • Actively promote student retention.
  • Support externship activities as applicable.
  • Perform related work as required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation OR a minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience.
  • Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames.
  • Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally.
  • Ability to travel locally to visit externship sites or other meetings.
  • Adhere to Ross Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics.
  • Must be able to work 2 evenings per week.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior teaching or formal tutoring experience using a developed curriculum.
