About the position
The Medical Assistant Instructor position is a part-time role focused on teaching medical assisting skills to students in a classroom setting. The instructor will be responsible for delivering lectures, demonstrations, and facilitating learning for a maximum of 24 students. Classes are held Monday to Friday in the mornings, and the role requires a commitment of 2-5 days per week, contributing to the development of future healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Teach in the Medical Assisting classroom covering clinical and administrative skills.
- Deliver lectures and demonstrations based on Ross lesson plans and curriculum.
- Facilitate learning for a maximum of 24 students per class session.
- Serve as a Primary Scheduled Instructor and a Secondary Instructor as needed for teaching assistance and substitutes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the medical assisting field and formal training from an accredited institution.
- Ability to obtain a national certification as a medical assistant.
- For individuals without formal education, a minimum of 5+ years of experience working in the medical field and a national certification is required.
- Interest in teaching or prior teaching experience is preferred.
- Flexibility and a passion for learning and growth.
