About the position

The Medical Assistant Instructor position is designed for an education leader who will train students in short-term programs aimed at gainful employment. The instructor will be responsible for planning, teaching, directing, and supervising student learning experiences in both classroom and clinical settings, adhering to the school's accredited curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements the total curriculum as assigned by the Director of Education.
• Teaches and supervises all student learning experiences in the classroom, skills lab, and clinical areas.
• Maintains records of student progress, performance, attendance, and grades.
• Prepares, administers, and grades written and practical examinations during the course of study.
• Devises written lesson plans and implements them through various teaching methods such as lecture and demonstration.
• Identifies individual and collective learning needs of students, considering their physical, mental, and emotional status.
• Discusses students' concerns related to their learning experiences.
• Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with the Program Director or designee.
• Assists students in developing an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the healthcare profession.
• Participates in the selection and preparation of instructional materials.

Requirements

• 5 years experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in the field required.
• Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant Instructor preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Higher education teaching experience (1 year preferred).
