About the position
The Medical Assistant Instructor at Indian Capital Technology Center is responsible for providing instruction and curriculum development for the Medical Assistant program. This role involves maintaining a safe and conducive learning environment, managing classroom and lab activities, and ensuring students meet industry standards and obtain necessary certifications. The instructor will also participate in professional development, community relations, and student recruitment efforts.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction and lab training for the Medical Assistant program.
- Prepare course syllabus, lesson plans, and instructional materials in accordance with industry standards.
- Evaluate student progress and modify instruction to ensure successful outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe classroom/lab environment.
- Assist in the recruitment of students and provide guidance on education and career decisions.
- Manage the program budget and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Participate in professional development and community engagement activities.
- Conduct advisory committee meetings and collaborate with industry partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; must work towards an Associate degree if no degree is held.
- Eligible for teaching credentials as per ODCTE and/or SDE requirements.
- Minimum of three years of successful work experience in the relevant Career Pathway or Career Major.
- Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Successful teaching experience in a vocational program is a plus.
- Competent technical skills related to the Medical Assistant field.
