About the position

The Medical Assistant Instructor at Concorde Career Colleges is responsible for providing active and effective learning experiences for students across various educational settings, including classrooms, labs, and clinical environments. The instructor serves as a professional and academic role model, committed to student satisfaction and upholding the institution's core values. This role also involves participation in faculty development activities and maintaining a positive campus culture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide active and effective learning for students in classrooms, labs, clinical, and online settings.
  • Act as a professional and academic role model for students.
  • Commit to student satisfaction and uphold Concorde's Mission and core values.
  • Engage in record keeping and stay informed of current instructional standards.
  • Participate in ongoing faculty and professional development activities, including CEUs.
  • Attend workshops and seminars to improve instructional skills.
  • Assist with preparations for and attend graduation ceremonies as requested.
  • Participate in student and campus activities, including field trips and community activities.
  • Assist in inventory, organization, and ordering of classroom supplies.
  • Maintain classrooms and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Report non-functioning equipment to the Program Director or Academic Dean.
  • Contribute to a positive campus culture and maintain a professional attitude.
  • Assist financial aid and administrative departments as needed.
  • Assist with student recognition and clinical or externship site visits.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of related practical work experience in the occupational field.
  • Previous teaching experience is strongly desired.
  • Knowledgeable in course content and effective in directing and evaluating student learning.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in phlebotomy, immunizations, venipuncture, injections, pharmacology, EKG, wound care, GYN procedures, and vital signs.
  • Proficiency in dosage calculations and electronic health records (EHR) is helpful.
