About the position
Zollege is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant Instructor to join the Amarillo Medical Assistant School. This role combines a passion for medicine with the ability to educate and shape the next generation of medical assistants. Instructors will provide hands-on education in a clinical environment, ensuring students gain the necessary skills to succeed in their careers. Classes are held on Saturdays, and the program is designed to be accessible and practical, taking place directly in a doctor's office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare for each class by reviewing the provided curriculum and utilizing lab stations.
- Demonstrate medical skills and procedures, assisting students as they practice hands-on in the lab.
- Evaluate individual and group performance, making necessary adjustments to meet student learning needs.
- Enforce classroom management and ensure adherence to safety precautions.
- Convey curriculum and pertinent skills through lectures and hands-on demonstrations.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED (Required).
- 5+ years of experience as a medical assistant or in a related field (Required).
- CMA, RMA, or CCMA credentials (Highly Preferred).
- Current CPR/BLS certification (Highly Preferred).
- Basic computer skills such as emailing, printing, scanning, troubleshooting, and connecting to WiFi (Preferred).
- Strong communication skills.
- A passion for helping others achieve their personal goals.
Nice-to-haves
- BC/BE certification (Preferred).
- CPR Certification (Preferred).
