About the position

The Medical Assistant at Ironwood Primary Care is responsible for providing professional and compassionate care to patients of all ages, ensuring an efficient flow of patients within the clinic. This role involves assisting physicians with patient assessments, managing medical records, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment. The position requires a valid medical assistant certification and offers a retention bonus of $5,000.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care for infants through geriatric patients.
• Assist physicians by collecting vital signs and pertinent patient data.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist in determining medical problems.
• Obtain brief medical histories from patients.
• Assist with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Stock medical supplies and order as needed.
• Schedule patients for testing procedures and ensure test results are available prior to appointments.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely.
• Answer telephones, route calls, and provide routine information to callers.

Requirements

• Must hold current certification as a Medical Assistant from a recognized agency.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Office Laboratory Assistant license (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Excellent reading, writing, and organizational skills.
• Strong customer service skills and patient-centered care experience.
• Computer and word processing skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional phone etiquette.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Previous experience in a clinic setting preferred.
