About the position

Responsibilities

  • Assist the provider with patient visits and procedures.
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
  • Room patients and manage the flow of the provider's caseload.
  • Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and perform specimen collection.
  • Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient complaints and protocols.
  • Process referrals and medication refills.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
  • Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team setting.
