About the position
The Medical Assistant/LPN position at Prana Pulmonary Clinic involves performing both administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the medical facility. The role requires a proactive approach to patient care and administrative duties, with a focus on supporting the medical staff in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff, including taking vitals and transcribing visit notes into the EHR system
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications
- Administer injections and draw blood
- Call in medications and return patient calls
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Keep all rooms stocked and maintain a running log of supplies
- Compile a list of supplies that need to be ordered
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a high-volume private practice
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must have at least 3 references that will be checked
- Abide by company's no nicotine rules
- Open to learning and receiving feedback with a positive attitude
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with EMR systems (1 year preferred)
- Experience with vital signs (1 year preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant certification (preferred)
- Ability to commute to Morristown, TN 37813 (preferred)
