About the position
The Medical Assistant (MA) position in Family Medicine at Ascension involves providing support to physicians in the examination and treatment of patients. The role includes performing clinical duties, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized environment. This position is essential in delivering compassionate care to patients in a busy medical setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
- Assist with treatments ordered by the physician as supervised by a physician or registered nurse.
- Perform select clinical duties such as interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
- Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
- Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Medical Assistant certification preferred.
