About the position

The Medical Assistant (MA) Specialist in Urgent Care plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare practitioners by assisting in various procedures, managing patient records, and facilitating communication regarding test results. This position is essential for ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist practitioners in assigned Urgent Care and/or specialty clinics in performing procedures.
• Manage telephone prescription orders and refills.
• Maintain accurate patient records and relay test results to patients and healthcare providers.
• Support the Urgent Care team in treating conditions that require immediate attention.
• Provide patient care and support in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required.
• Six months of Medical Assistant experience required.
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant program preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in applicable specialty area preferred.
• Lab/EKG experience preferred.
