The Medical Assistant (MA) Specialist in Urgent Care at Samaritan Health Services plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare practitioners by assisting in various medical procedures, managing patient records, and facilitating communication regarding test results and prescription orders. Responsibilities

• Assist practitioners in assigned Urgent Care and/or specialty clinic(s) in performance of procedures.
• Manage telephone prescription orders and refills.
• Maintain patient records and relay test results to patients and healthcare providers.
• Provide patient care and support in a variety of medical situations.
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required.
• Six months of Medical Assistant experience required.
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Experience in applicable specialty area preferred.
• Lab/EKG experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in pediatrics and geriatrics care.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
