About the position

The Medical Assistant (MA) position at MaineHealth is designed to support a new virtual perinatal behavioral health program. The MA will work closely with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, providing essential patient care in a team-based virtual environment. This role involves both administrative and clinical responsibilities, ensuring a smooth patient flow and a supportive atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in the care and treatment of patients.
• Provide administrative support to ensure a smooth flow of patients through the office.
• Create a calm and supportive atmosphere for patients.
• Demonstrate competency in all skills related to patient care within the scope of practice.
• Complete continuing education and maintain certification as required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Current CNA certificate or MA certification through an NCCA accredited program preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of computer systems and applications with necessary typing or computer skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and solve practical problems.

• Experience in a virtual team-based environment.

Benefits

• Sign-on bonus of $4,000 for 0-1 years of experience and $5,000 for 1+ years of experience (full-time).
