About the position

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides direct front and/or back office patient care as directed by a Physician, LVN, or other licensed health care provider. The MA will greet and escort patients to exam rooms, prepare patients for examinations, assist with procedures, collect specimens, and assist with the overall delivery of patient care in the clinic. The MA will be trained to assist the physician and nursing personnel with primary care and OB/GYN procedures, and will assist the physician with medication, medical supplies/equipment during minor office/clinic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Assist with medical procedures and collect specimens.
• Support the overall delivery of patient care in the clinic.
• Assist the physician and nursing personnel with primary care and OB/GYN procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Proficient in Windows, Word Perfect, Excel, Outlook, clinical application programs, and Internet.
• Typing/word processing skill of 20 wpm, preferably 40 wpm with high accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Work with enthusiasm, teamwork, and maintain confidentiality.
