About the position
As a Medical Assistant (MA) at ConvenientMD, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting healthcare providers in a dynamic clinic environment. This part-time position involves engaging with patients, assisting with clinical operations, and ensuring smooth clinic workflows. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on improving health outcomes and promoting wellness in the community.
Responsibilities
- Engage with patients in a welcoming and professional manner, addressing inquiries and providing assistance regarding their medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
- Conduct preliminary evaluations to triage patients and determine the urgency of their medical needs.
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, phlebotomy, and assisting with minor medical procedures.
- Document patient information accurately, maintaining electronic health records (EHRs) in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Administer medications under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers, adhering to state regulations and guidelines for medication administration.
- Collaborate with other members of the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
- Communicate effectively with providers and other healthcare professionals to relay patient information and updates.
- Support the training of new clinic team members.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Medical Assisting certification with at least one (1) year of experience or two (2) years of experience working as a Medical Assistant.
- Basic Life Supports (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Nice-to-haves
- 1-2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department preferred.
